On the 4th, Jo Jeong-hoon, chairman of the General Election White Paper Special Committee, said in an interview with MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' that when asked whether they had held meetings with Chairman Han or officials from the Presidential Office, "The Presidential Office is conducting meetings," adding, "Chairman Han has not yet made contact." Regarding the meeting participants from the Presidential Office, he explained, "They are individuals who can adequately answer political questions."
When asked if meeting with Jang Dong-hyuk, the People Power Party's chief floor spokesperson, would suffice, Jo responded, "Chairman Han is a key figure in a significant part of the white paper's content, so I believe it is proper to present our opinions and organize his stance." He added, "If he insists there is no need to meet and that Chief Floor Spokesperson Jang can fully convey his views, then we could summarize Jang's statements as representing Chairman Han's position." Jo also indicated that if Chairman Han ultimately refuses to meet, the white paper might include a note stating that Chairman Han did not respond to the meeting request.
Jo stated, "We plan to complete the practical work of drafting the white paper by mid-June," and added, "We intend to respect the decision of the party's Emergency Response Committee regarding the publication timing."
