Gijang County Continues KTX-Eum Stop Campaign on Social Media

"Leave a Support Message for Hosting" Event Until the 7th

Gijang-gun (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on the 4th that it will launch an SNS event to spread enthusiasm for attracting a KTX-Eum stop and to encourage participation from all residents.

This event will run until June 7th on Gijang-gun’s official SNS channels: ▲Naver Blog ▲Instagram ▲Facebook ▲Twitter ▲KakaoTalk Channel. A total of 10 participants will be selected by lottery to receive a Starbucks gift card (10,000 KRW).

Anyone who loves Gijang, not just Gijang residents, can participate in the event. To join, simply follow or like at least one of the official SNS channels, leave a comment with a message of support for attracting the KTX-Eum stop, capture a screenshot of your participation, and submit it through the Google Form linked on the SNS channel.

The county plans to edit the comments from this SNS event into videos and other promotional materials to support the campaign for the KTX-Eum stop in Gijang-gun.

Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang-gun, stated, “The interest and support of our residents will be a great driving force in attracting the KTX-Eum stop to Gijang-gun,” and added, “I hope many people will also show interest in Gijang-gun’s official SNS channels, where you can find various content about major county affairs, projects, events, festivals, and attractions.”

Gijang-gun has already completed a county-wide signature campaign in 2021 and a feasibility study in 2022, and is now making every effort to secure the KTX-Eum stop. The necessity and justification for attracting the stop are well established, including: ▲Osiria Tourism Complex, which attracts over 10 million visitors annually ▲Southeast Radiation Medical Science Complex, home to the Gijang Heavy Ion Therapy Center, a hub for cancer treatment in the southern region ▲Responding to transportation demand from the concentration of 13 local industrial complexes and the growth of Jeonggwan, Ilgwang, and Jangan New Towns ▲Connection to the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam metropolitan railway ▲Securing evacuation means in the event of a nuclear power plant incident. Gijang-gun is conducting all-out efforts to attract the KTX-Eum stop.
