Dongseo University Partners with Leading Chinese Film Universities

Joint Research and Exchange between Professors and Students of Beijing Film Academy

Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) has partnered with a world-renowned national film university in China to engage in faculty and student exchanges as well as joint research projects.

Dongseo University recently announced on the 4th that it had signed an MOU for mutual cooperation with Beijing Film Academy, the top and globally prestigious national film university in China, in Beijing.

Beijing Film Academy, established in 1950, is recognized as the leading university in China for film, media, and animation. Through this MOU, the two universities have agreed to promote faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and academic collaboration.

The signing ceremony was attended by Sun Lijun, Vice President of Beijing Film Academy; Yi Ran, Dean of the International Exchange School; Tan Hui, Executive Vice Dean of the International Exchange School; Ma Hua, Vice Dean of the Animation School; Liu Mengya, Vice Dean of the Digital Media School; as well as Han Kyungho, Director of International Affairs at Dongseo University; Cho Seungwoo, Professor of the Department of Visual Content; and Choi Wonho, Professor.

The signing ceremony was held as a major event during the Beijing Film Academy Animation Festival. Vice President Sun Lijun stated, "We hope that cooperation with Dongseo University will vitalize exchanges in the future content sector between Korea and China."

Han Kyungho, Director of International Affairs, said, "We hope that through cooperation between Dongseo University, which is pursuing specialization in cultural content, and the world-class Beijing Film Academy, there will be active exchanges of professors, students, and works in the fields of film, media, and animation."

Later in the afternoon, Cho Seungwoo, Professor of the Department of Animation at the College of Media Content, gave a special lecture focusing on the use of future content and AI-based content production, which drew great interest from students regarding new animation production techniques.

Dongseo University plans to expand cooperation in the field of cultural content, faculty exchanges, and exchange of works based on the MOU with Beijing Film Academy.
