Osan-si Launches Cloud-Based Data Analysis to Alleviate Urban Traffic Congestion

This project supports the use of the data analysis platform 'COMPAS' to address urban issues, allowing citizens from all walks of life interested in data analysis to participate in data-driven policy formulation and urban problem-solving. Osan City participated in this contest with the project titled 'Selection of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Facility Locations through Traffic Volume Analysis.'

Accordingly, the city will provide urban problems and data to LH, and LH will disclose the urban issues and necessary data on COMPAS. Citizens can use the disclosed data to derive improvement measures. Those wishing to participate can access 'LH COMPAS' and join by July 19. The contest will be conducted as a competitive data analysis contest.

The city plans to create a traffic problem-solving model reflecting the improvement measures derived through citizen participation and, based on this, develop traffic policies.

Meanwhile, under the 8th term of the elected administration, Osan City is actively collaborating with LH to solve regional traffic issues, including the early commencement of the Gyeongbu Line railway crossing road construction project and improvement projects for the Gyeongbu Expressway and the Metropolitan Area 2nd Ring Expressway interchanges.

The mayor said, "We will create a more convenient and safer traffic environment to enhance the city's brand competitiveness," adding, "Especially since this project is conducted in a citizen participatory manner, we need a lot of interest from the citizens."
