SK Hynix Donates 1.5 Billion KRW Designated Fund... Established at Youth Life Culture Center
SK Hynix will invest in the creation of future environment and 4th industrial revolution education facilities for youth in the Icheon area of Gyeonggi Province.
On the 4th, Icheon City announced that on the 3rd, SK Hynix, the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea, and Icheon City signed a tripartite business agreement to establish an environmental and information and communication technology (ICT) creative culture education facility at the Icheon Youth Life Culture Center.

This business agreement aims to provide educational facilities where Icheon youth can experience the future environment and 4th industrial revolution brought by artificial intelligence (AI) technology in advance and nurture their dreams. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon, Park Yong-geun, Vice President of SK Hynix, and Kwon In-wook, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea.
According to the agreement, Icheon City will receive a designated donation of 1.5 billion KRW from SK Hynix’s regional environment improvement fund to create specialized education, practice, and experience spaces within the Icheon Youth Life Culture Center where youth can nurture their dreams about the future environment. The three organizations agreed to continue cooperating for support projects for Icheon youth and citizens through this agreement.
The Icheon Youth Life Culture Center, located at 176 Anheung-dong, Icheon, will be a three-story building with a total floor area of 8,500㎡. Construction began in March last year, and it is scheduled to open in March next year. The center will house a science-specialized library, future venture offices, ICT education facilities, and spaces for talent development, as well as lifestyle and cultural spaces for youth and local residents to enjoy.

Park Yong-geun, Vice President of SK Hynix, said, "We hope this educational facility project will help reduce the ICT education gap in the local community," adding, "We hope that Icheon youth will cultivate various dreams through the creative culture education space."
Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon, responded, "We will do our best to make this project a model case of the best ICT education facility through public-private cooperation."
