Sogayoung Officer Wins Grand Prize
Sancheong County in Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that it held the "2024 First Half Proactive Administration Best Practices Contest" in the county office's main conference room. This contest was organized to realize proactive administration that residents can truly experience, based on creativity and expertise.
In particular, more public officials participated in the contest than last year, demonstrating high interest and enthusiasm for proactive administration. Sancheong County discovers outstanding cases of proactive administration every half-year and selects exemplary public officials.
At this year's contest, proactive administration cases implemented in the second half of 2023 were comprehensively reviewed for factors such as △level of resident satisfaction △proactivity of the person in charge △importance and difficulty of the task △potential for expansion, and after evaluation by the Proactive Administration Committee, eight outstanding cases were selected.
The grand prize went to Officer So Gayoung, who presented the case "Supplying Safe Tap Water to Residents by Installing a Precision Filtration Device with Three Functions at the Jeongsuji Outflow Site." Officers Shin Jisu and Lim Kyunghee received excellence awards for the cases "Issuing the Nation's First Sancheong-Jinju Coexistence Gift Certificate" and "From Regular Worker Safety and Health Education to a Communication Channel for Residents!" respectively.
Additionally, Officer Kim Seoni (Improving Farmers' Income by Applying Domestic and International Leading Technology to Overseas Export Markets), and Officer Kim Dongwon (Increasing Farmers' Income and Strengthening County Promotion through Communication with Sanencheong Shopping Mall Businesses) received encouragement awards. Officer Hwang Jun (Increasing Forest Income and Promoting Projects for the Convenience of Forestry Workers through Expanded Distribution of Wild Vegetables), Officer Kang Hwaesuk (Seizure of Deposits Now Possible at Local Banks!), and Officer Hong Junghyun (Free Supply of Beneficial Microorganisms for Agricultural Use) were recognized for their efforts.
The outstanding proactive administration officials, who contributed to improving residents' convenience with their voluntary and proactive attitude, will receive a commendation from the county governor, a prize, and preferential treatment in personnel matters.
Governor Lee Seunghwa said, "Proactively and creatively carrying out tasks for the development of Sancheong County is a very valuable endeavor, and I feel a very positive change as many public officials participated this year." He added, "We will continue to establish a public service culture where proactive officials are rewarded and provide better administrative services to our residents."
