December & Company, which operates the AI-based easy investment platform ‘Fint,’ is supporting the opening of brokerage-type Individual Savings Accounts (ISA), emerging as an all-purpose tax-saving account, to help expand benefits for Fint theme investment users.
On the 4th, Fint announced that it launched a theme investment advisory service and made it possible for customers using this service to choose a brokerage-type ISA when opening an advisory account. Customers are expected to achieve more efficient investments through Fint by utilizing AI-analyzed information in Fint theme investments to earn investment returns and enjoy tax-saving effects with a brokerage-type ISA account.
Customers who open a brokerage-type ISA through Fint can enjoy various tax benefits. The general brokerage-type ISA offers a tax exemption benefit of 2 million KRW, and any amount exceeding this exemption is subject to separate taxation at a lower rate (9.9%) than the general tax rate. Additionally, unlike general accounts, taxation applies only to net gains after deducting losses from the entire account profit, which is another advantage.
If ISA funds maturing this year are transferred to a pension account, customers can receive an additional annual tax credit of up to 3 million KRW within the pension savings tax credit limit. While the existing annual tax credit limit for pension accounts is 9 million KRW, in the year when ISA maturity funds (surrender value) are transferred to a pension account, tax credit benefits can be received up to 12 million KRW. Fint customers can manage assets by opening a brokerage-type ISA account through Fint and, upon maturity of the account, transfer the funds to Fint pension savings investments, entrusting the complex investment process to AI for easier asset management.
Fint plans to contribute to creating favorable conditions by providing tax information and maturity notifications in advance so that brokerage-type ISA account holders can receive maximum tax benefits while paying minimal taxes.
Song In-seong, CEO of December & Company, said, "We hope many customers will manage their assets and enjoy high-quality investment experiences through Fint theme investment brokerage-type ISA accounts that capture both returns and tax benefits." He added, "Fint will continue to expand various options for healthier and smarter asset management."
