The exhibition, held from the 28th of last month to the 1st of this month, is Asia's largest B2B food exhibition, with over 3,130 companies from 52 countries participating. It is considered one of Asia's top three food exhibitions alongside SEOUL FOOD and FOODEX JAPAN.

At the Yongin Special City group pavilion, six companies participated: 'Sowon Company,' a fruit soju manufacturer; 'Nong-eop Hoesa Beobin Sulssem,' a traditional liquor manufacturer; 'Wen Tteok Village Agricultural Cooperative Corporation,' a traditional rice cake manufacturer; 'Bros Lapang,' a sesame and perilla oil manufacturer; 'Wooshin Sangsa,' a food and beverage manufacturer; and 'Daon,' a processed wild ginseng food manufacturer. The city reported that these participating companies held a total of 181 export consultations worth approximately 4 billion KRW with buyers from around the world.

In particular, Sowon Company's 'Rang Soju' was selected as one of the 46 'Taste Innovation Show Finalists' among over 3,000 products exhibited, recognized by the event organizers for excellence.

The city supported the participating companies' overseas market development by covering booth rental fees, installation costs, transportation expenses, and by pre-identifying and connecting local buyers in advance, actively supporting Yongin companies' overseas expansion.

Additionally, a total of 10 export interns were dispatched to assist with export consultations for each company at the exhibition. These export interns were university students who completed the Dankook University Youth Trade Expert Training Program (GTEP), receiving specialized export education. They provided close support to companies before the exhibition, including marketing, on-site buyer response, interpretation, and contract negotiations. This system is a campaign pledge of Mayor Lee Sang-il in his 8th term, and this was the second time dispatching interns to an overseas exhibition.

A city official stated, "We will continue to strive to identify what our companies truly need in advance at future exhibitions to support successful market development."

Meanwhile, from the 3rd to the 8th, the city dispatched a market development team to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and T?rkiye, and plans to continue supporting local SMEs' market development by hosting the 'Y-Trade Export Consultation Meeting' in August.
