Applications open until the 17th... Recruiting summer vacation seasonal semester students linked with the local community
For high school students, 10 courses offered by 5 universities and 1 business
New courses include advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing career exploration, future society and sustainable architecture, urban ecology and pet food, etc.
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will operate the "High School-Community Linked Career Education Summer Vacation Seasonal Semester" to provide local high school students with high-quality career exploration opportunities at universities in preparation for out-of-school education following the introduction of the high school credit system in 2025.
This educational program is a Gangbuk-gu specialized project promoted to nurture students into future-competent talents by linking with universities and businesses. From July 22 to 25, a total of 10 courses will be offered at five universities and one business.
In particular, the 2024 High School-Community Linked Career Education Summer Vacation Seasonal Semester was newly designed based on the results of a demand survey for desired new subjects conducted from March to April among students from seven local high schools, reflecting responses from 1,000 students.
The newly established career education courses reflecting the demands of Gangbuk-gu high school students include ▲ Duksung Women's University "Career Exploration in Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing" ▲ Duksung Women's University "Future Society and Sustainable Architecture" ▲ Samyook University "Urban Ecology and Pet Food & Pet Tech."
Especially, Soongsil University newly joined this project and plans to operate the "Legal Professionals and Mock Trial" course.
Additionally, the seasonal semester will offer ▲ Korea University "DX-Big Data Utilization Planning," "Digital Design and Production of Electric Vehicle Prototypes in the 4th Industrial Revolution" ▲ Sungshin Women's University "First Steps to Becoming a Healthcare Professional," "Digital Transformation Led by Artificial Intelligence" ▲ Samyook University "21st Century Hospital Careers" ▲ Chocolatier Korea "Chocolatier Level 3 Certification Course," among others.
Participants are high school students enrolled in or residing in Gangbuk-gu. Students wishing to apply can do so by July 17 via the QR code on the poster or through the Google Form.
