Fusion Food Street Created at Yeongdong Traditional Market from 5 to 9 PM on the 5th; Beer or Wine Offered to Customers Spending Over 10,000 Won
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong)'s Yeongdong Traditional Market will transform into a night market where visitors can enjoy unique foods during the Yeongdong Hanmadang Festival held on the 5th.
This event is prepared with the participation of all merchants after Yeongdong Traditional Market was selected for the Seoul City traditional market event project. From 5 PM to 9 PM, the market area will be set up as a fusion food street, selling over 50 different types of food developed by the merchants' association, including Tteokgangjeong (sweet rice cake), fried tofu salad, and pork fried dishes. Customers who purchase food worth more than 10,000 KRW will be offered beer to enjoy a refreshing summer evening.
On the day of the event, a stage will be installed at the intersection in front of Jungoe Pharmacy in Yeongdong Traditional Market. Performances to boost the festival's excitement will continue on the stage, and 50 tables and 300 chairs will be prepared along a 100-meter stretch from the stage so visitors can comfortably enjoy their food. Before the night market opens, from 12 PM to 4 PM, a raffle event will be held. Customers who purchase more than 20,000 KRW will receive various prizes, including wine, sesame oil, and assorted Korean beef brisket, totaling 65 different items.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “I hope Yeongdong Traditional Market, boasting a 50-year history in the heart of Gangnam, will become a new landmark where people can enjoy unique festivals,” and added, “We will continue to communicate with market merchants and provide various support to revitalize traditional markets.”
