This project was established in accordance with the win-win agreement signed last April between Hyundai Motor, Kia, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, aiming to “narrow the gap between large corporations and their partners and protect the disadvantaged.”
The selected local governments will support secondary and tertiary automotive suppliers according to the characteristics of their regional automotive industry.
Ulsan City applied for the project under the title “2024 Ulsan-Style Automotive Industry Win-Win Agreement Expansion Support Project.”
This project aims to reduce turnover rates and improve working conditions by increasing the real wages of new employees at small and medium-sized automotive parts companies.
A total of 1.25 billion KRW will be provided, including 1 billion KRW in national funding secured through the selection and 250 million KRW in local funding.
The main content of the project is to provide job retention support funds to new employees at small and medium-sized automotive parts companies based on their length of service, and to provide job advancement incentives to employers.
Additionally, a Welfare Plus Support Project will be implemented to provide assistance with rental costs, health check-up expenses, and more for current employees.
A city official stated, “Through this project, we will thoroughly support the win-win agreements between primary contractors and subcontractors in Ulsan’s core automotive industry, improve the working environment, and ensure sustainable development of the automotive sector,” adding, “We will continue to take the lead in devising and implementing various support measures focused on field demand.”
