"Considered the Harvard of Trainers Industry"
"Never Heard Mr. Kang's Profanity"
Kang Hyung-wook, CEO of Bodeum Company, has been embroiled in controversy over allegations of 'gapjil' (abuse of power) against employees. In response, a YouTuber who previously worked at Bodeum Company has come forward to refute the claims, stating that Bodeum Company provided the best treatment in the pet dog training industry.

Dog trainer Go Min-seong shared his views on the controversy surrounding CEO Kang during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel 'Dog Teacher.' He said, "I have records of working at Bodeum Company. I had a three-month probation period and worked there for about 5 to 6 months starting from September 1, 2016." Go is currently running a YouTube channel related to dog training while working as a trainer.
He explained, "The reason I wanted to work at Bodeum Company was because they offered the best treatment in the industry," emphasizing, "At that time, Bodeum Company was the 'Harvard of dog trainers.'" Go added, "We worked five days a week. In the dog training field, working five days a week is almost unheard of. It’s extremely rare to learn under a well-known trainer with such a schedule."
Regarding claims that CEO Kang insulted employees, Go said, "By my standards, I was never verbally abused. There were times when his tone got louder. But if an employee isn’t performing well at work, isn’t it natural to get upset?" He added, "I never saw any verbal abuse during my six months there."

He continued, "The reason I left the company was not because the work was hard. I learned a lot there and did receive the best treatment in the industry," adding that he left due to his father’s passing. Go recalled, "I was rushing and crying while driving back to my hometown, Jeongeup, when CEO Kang called me. He came all the way from Namyangju to Jeongeup. That memory still remains very grateful to me."
He said, "It’s true that (Kang) likes dogs more than people," but added, "That’s why I joined Bodeum Company, because I liked that."
Regarding allegations of monitoring employees through closed-circuit television (CCTV), he said, "When I worked there, there were many CCTVs because of the dogs," emphasizing, "If clear evidence emerges that they were used to monitor people, I have no intention of defending CEO Kang." On suspicions of reading company messenger chats, he said, "It was wrong for employees to badmouth behind backs, but it was also wrong to expose that. Both sides were at fault."
Go concluded, "I know CEO Kang’s personality, and while trainers can understand it, I think regular employees might not. There may be some truth to the former employees’ revelations, but I think the suspicions have snowballed and spread too much."
