The government stated on the 3rd that "holding a collective strike vote and filing lawsuits against university presidents will only trigger endless conflicts and confrontations," adding that "we must no longer cause distress and pain to the public" in response to doctors' organizations announcing plans for a general strike vote.
Cho Kyu-hong, Minister of Health and Welfare, held a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for doctors' collective actions at the Government Complex Sejong that morning, saying, "Even now, the medical community must put their heads together and cooperate with the government to save essential medical services and regional healthcare so that the public can feel reassured."
