AI Baduk Robot Installed at 'Eunpyeong Chundang'... Residents Aged 65 and Over in the Area Can Use It After Membership Registration
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it has installed an ‘AI Baduk Robot’ at Eunpyeong Chundang to play Baduk with senior citizens.
Located along the Bulgwangcheon Stream, ‘Eunpyeong Chundang’ is a space created in July 2020 for the safety of seniors, where they used to play Janggi and Baduk under bridges and in the shade by the stream. Any senior citizen aged 65 or older residing in Eunpyeong-gu can use the facility after registering as a member.
Through the ‘AI Baduk Robot,’ seniors are provided with opportunities to experience digital devices, enabling them to enjoy leisure activities independently.
‘Eunpyeong Chundang’ operates from Monday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Every autumn, the ‘Eunpyeong-gu Senior Citizens’ Folk Janggi Competition’ is held, and during midsummer and midwinter, it serves as a shelter from heatwaves and cold waves.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “Eunpyeong Chundang is a beloved community space visited by about 38,000 seniors annually,” adding, “We will expand support incorporating various smart devices to help seniors maintain their safety, health, and a rich leisure life, enabling them to enjoy a healthy old age.”
