The cool breeze and clear skies signal that early summer, the perfect season for a getaway, has arrived. To celebrate this time, the "June Travel Month" campaign supports the excited steps of the entire nation. One of the most noticeable offers is the train fare discount for those who hesitate to travel due to driving or transportation concerns. During June Travel Month, high-speed rail (KTX) fares are discounted by 50% on weekdays and 30% on weekends. However, the discount applies only when purchasing travel packages that combine KTX fares with admission tickets to local tourist attractions or accommodations.

Car-sharing companies like Green Car and Socar have also increased their existing discounts. Green Car offers a 50% discount on nationwide rental fees and 5?10% off insurance fees, while Socar provides a 40% discount for rentals of 10 hours or more at regional airports. Jin Air’s “Pet Boarding Fee Discount” is also noteworthy, reducing pet boarding fees by 20,000 KRW on routes from Seoul Gimpo to Sacheon, Yeosu, and others. Passengers receive a one-way discount, while pets get a round-trip discount. City tour bus tickets sold by Kakao Mobility are also reduced by 50%.

The pet travel platform "Banryeosaenghwal" launched the "Daengdaengi Jeju Charter Flight" product, operating a 3-day, 2-night round trip between Gimpo and Jeju, running once a month for a total of 10 times until the end of the year, with flights starting from this day. It is also worth checking out the benefits of the “Digital Tourist Resident Card,” which is being expanded by local governments nationwide and can be combined with discount promotions. With 19 new local governments joining, including Jangheung in Jeollanam-do, the number of issuing local governments has increased from 15 to 34. Those who obtain the digital tourist resident card can enjoy various benefits such as late-night KTX fare discounts and discounts on paid facilities managed by local governments.

The Korea Tourism Organization is running a promotion offering 50% discount coupons for stays at its certified quality accommodations. This is a separate event from the ongoing Accommodation Sale Festa. Reservations made between the 17th and 30th for any of the 517 certified accommodations can be used at half price. The actual stay period can extend until the end of July, making it usable for summer vacations. This discount can be combined with the Accommodation Festa discounts. Additionally, over 3,800 campsites registered on the Korea Tourism Organization’s “Go Camping” site offer a 10,000 KRW “payback” discount. Reservations are accepted until the 27th.

If you are planning a special trip, pay attention to discounts on rural experiences and rural travel products. The official rural travel information portal “Welchon,” operated by the Korea Rural Community Corporation, is holding discount events on rural travel and experience products during Travel Month.

In particular, the “No Tent Travel” in Saldun Village, Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, is popular because visitors can enjoy a night of “glamping” in tents set up by villagers right in front of the Saldun Valley without bringing their own tents. Other notable offerings include a winery visit accommodation package priced at 161,700 KRW and a “Chon-cance” (rural vacation) 1-night, 2-day package (133,000 KRW) targeting women in their 40s and 60s, featuring picnics and barbecues with diverse activities.

Discounts on admission fees to tourist attractions and performance tickets are applied throughout Travel Month. Immersive media art exhibition halls such as the Arte Museum in Yeosu, Jeju, and Gangneung, as well as Haslla Art World Museum in Gangneung, operate unique discount programs. Jeju, Busan, Yeosu, Gangneung, and Jeonbuk offer up to 20% off their local tour passes. Purchasing these local government tour passes provides combined discounts on city tour bus fares (up to 50%) and admission fees to tourist sites.

Secret tourist spots that were previously closed to the public will be specially opened during this event. Gwanghallu Garden in Namwon, Jeonbuk, where the love story of Chunhyang and Mongryong blossomed, will open the Gwanghallu Pavilion, which has been restricted for cultural heritage protection, for three days from the 28th to the 30th. From the 6th to the 8th, the “Cultural Heritage Night Tour” will be held in Oeam Village, Asan, Chungnam. While the village is open as a tourist site during the day, this event offers a rare chance to experience the hidden charm of the folk village’s nighttime scenery. The natural monument pine tree Seoksongryeong in Yecheon, Gyeongbuk, will be accessible to visitors inside the protective fence on June 8th and 9th.

From the 14th to the 16th, the Seomjingang River in Hadong, Gyeongnam, will host a hands-on event where participants can collect freshwater clams by scraping the riverbed using the traditional “hand net fishing” method. In Jijok Strait, Namhae, Gyeongnam, visitors can also directly participate in fish-catching experiences at the traditional fishing weirs called jukbangnyeom, which were previously only observed visually.

Why not fully enjoy the beautiful landscapes, culture, flavors, and styles across the country through the diverse discount events and special programs available during the June Travel Month campaign?
