Korea Zinc, celebrating its 50th anniversary, held a workshop (Rookies Day) for new employees and second-year staff to share the company's future vision and enhance their sense of belonging. This is part of Korea Zinc's talent-centered management approach.

Korea Zinc announced that it conducted a new employee workshop over two days starting from the 30th of last month at the Mayfield Hotel in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. The workshop was held for 62 new employees from 2023 to 2024. It was designed to motivate new employees, increase their sense of belonging, and share Korea Zinc’s vision and future through communication with the management team.

In the latter part of the workshop, Chairman Choi Yoon-beom of Korea Zinc and other top executives made a surprise appearance. They strengthened direct communication with young employees, shared the overall status of company management and new business visions, and engaged in candid Q&A sessions with the staff.

At this event, Chairman Choi emphasized the importance of the value of "together." He stated, "A dream dreamed alone is just a dream, but a dream dreamed together becomes reality," adding, "Through this, Korea Zinc can achieve results beyond imagination."

He also explained the importance of challenges in new areas. Chairman Choi highlighted the strengths of the smelting business, which holds the world’s number one position in non-ferrous metals. He urged, "Challenges in new areas are difficult, but we must continuously grow and create value by finding our competitiveness." He further stressed that new employees, who are the core future resources for Korea Zinc’s growth, are very important. Chairman Choi advised the new employees, "I hope you grow by understanding the purpose and meaning of your work and clarifying your personal vision."

He did not forget to emphasize "safety." Chairman Choi said, "The most important unchanging value is safety, and regardless of any financial loss, I ask everyone to have the courage to immediately stop the process on-site."

At the workshop, Vice President Baek Soon-heum and Head of Talent Management Division Kwon In-dae, along with Chairman Choi, also participated, engaging in sincere conversations and responses as workplace seniors.

Meanwhile, Korea Zinc is expanding its recruitment efforts to accelerate talent-centered management. In addition to the annual open recruitment for new employees, this year, marking its 50th anniversary, the company conducted a large-scale open recruitment for experienced professionals in April. Korea Zinc plans to continuously secure key members not only for its smelting business but also for the Troika Drive new business, which is its future growth engine.
