The Trade Commission of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 2nd that it decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on cold-rolled stainless steel products from Vietnam at the 448th Trade Commission meeting held on the 30th.
First reviews on stainless steel flat-rolled products from China, Indonesia, and Taiwan, as well as second reviews on OPP films from China, Indonesia, and Thailand, were also initiated.
Along with this, the Trade Commission preliminarily determined that there is a causal relationship between dumped imports and domestic industry damage in the anti-dumping investigation on PET resin from China, and decided to recommend to the Minister of Strategy and Finance the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties ranging from 6.62% to 7.83% to prevent damage occurring during the main investigation period.
Cheon Young-gil, standing commissioner of the Trade Commission, stated, "As South Korea's exports increase, the import market size is also expanding overall, and it appears that some industrial damage is occurring. The Trade Commission will conduct investigation procedures fairly and transparently regarding the dumping facts and the presence or absence of industry damage in the applied cases in accordance with relevant laws and international norms."
