The special interview with Shim Hye-jin features the witty conversation of Jang Do-yeon, who is active as Coca-Cola’s secret agent 'Agent Kok,' combined with Shim Hye-jin’s honest and down-to-earth charm, delivering a colorful story through a pleasant meeting.
The commercial Shim Hye-jin appeared in 1988 was titled "I Feel It, Coca-Cola." At that time, commercials were produced for both Korea and Japan. They portrayed the cheerful daily lives of confident urban youth in a sophisticated and active manner, and have continued to be loved by many to this day. In the Korean version, Shim Hye-jin expressed the image of a confident career woman, becoming a 'wannabe' for women at the time.
Shim Hye-jin described the commercial she starred in as a "culture shock." Since there were hardly any commercials where women honestly expressed themselves at that time, the character in the Coca-Cola commercial who revealed and appealed herself was perceived as very fresh by the public. Additionally, the interview revealed behind-the-scenes stories related to the filming that were not well known before.
A Coca-Cola representative said, "As a brand leading the times, we will continue to deliver excitement and magical experiences to consumers’ daily lives through diverse and fresh marketing activities."
Meanwhile, Coca-Cola was first produced domestically in 1968 through Hanyang Foods, its first bottling partner. Subsequently, to produce concentrate domestically, protect trademarks, and conduct marketing activities, Korea Coca-Cola Corporation, the Korean Coca-Cola legal entity, was established in 1974 to enter the Korean market. Since 2007, it has formed a bottling partnership with LG Household & Health Care and has been producing, distributing, and selling finished products through Coca-Cola Beverage, a subsidiary of LG Household & Health Care.
