Challenge to Become an Honorary Reporter for Yangcheon-gu Senior Newsletter

Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it is recruiting the "3rd Senior Newsletter Honorary Reporters" who will write innovative articles from the perspective of seniors for the senior newsletter "Senior Plus," which provides customized district information beneficial for elderly life, until June 21.

Yangcheon-gu's senior newsletter "Senior Plus" has been published quarterly since its first issue in December 2020, with a total of 14 issues produced so far. The 1st and 2nd honorary reporters directly wrote about 60 articles through on-site coverage, vividly conveying various senior-related projects, education, and events promoted by the district.

In particular, the honorary reporter activities have received great responses as they provide seniors with opportunities to participate in district administration, enhance self-esteem, and bring vitality to their daily lives.

Prior to recruiting the 3rd senior newsletter honorary reporters, the district relaxed the eligibility criteria from 65 years and older to 60 years and older to form a solid team of reporters with practical skills.

A total of 12 people will be recruited, and any resident aged 60 or older who is interested in district administration and capable of on-site coverage, article writing, and using SNS can apply. Residents wishing to apply can download the application form from the district office website's notice section, fill it out, and submit it via email or mail to the person in charge, or visit the Public Relations Division in person by June 21.

The district plans to announce the final selection results at the end of June after document screening. The term of the 3rd senior newsletter honorary reporters will be two years starting from July 1, and a fixed activity fee will be paid when articles are accepted.

Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "Yangcheon-gu's senior newsletter 'Senior Plus' is a valuable opportunity for seniors to directly participate in district administration and voice their opinions," adding, "Through the recruitment of the 3rd honorary reporters, I hope more seniors can share their experiences and wisdom and communicate with society, and we look forward to the active participation of those interested."
