Sex Crimes at Businesses in Seoul and Osan
One Female Student with Borderline Intellectual Disability
Business owners who lured two teenage female students to their entertainment establishments, kept them for over two weeks, and sexually assaulted and forced them into prostitution have been arrested by the police.
On the 31st, the Osan Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that they have requested arrest warrants for two individuals in their 40s, including Mr. A, on charges of rape and facilitating prostitution under the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse.
Mr. A is suspected of committing sexual crimes while keeping Ms. B and others at the entertainment establishments jointly operated by them from April 18 to May 5.
It has been identified that on April 18, they approached Ms. B and others who were playing at Yeouido Hangang Park, luring them by saying, "We will give you a part-time job."
According to media reports, Ms. B and the others were born in 2010 and were middle school students, with one of them reportedly diagnosed with borderline intellectual disability.
Mr. A and his accomplices took Ms. B and others to several entertainment establishments located in Seoul and Osan, committing sexual crimes. On the 5th, while Ms. B and others were staying at an acquaintance of Mr. A’s residence, they were able to contact their parents and were handed over to their families by that acquaintance.
A police official stated, "The victims testified that they complied with the prostitution facilitation because Mr. A threatened them by claiming to be a gangster, which frightened them."
The police urgently arrested Mr. A and others on the 30th and applied for arrest warrants on the same day, and are currently investigating the detailed circumstances of the case.
