The Private School Teachers' Pension Service (Sahakyeongeum) announced on the 31st that it achieved the highest grade (A) in the '2024 Self-Audit Activity Evaluation (2023 Performance)' conducted by the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) on 677 audit target institutions (central administrative agencies, local governments, public institutions).
The BAI's self-audit activity evaluation is conducted annually to review self-audit activities and internal controls, aiming to enhance the appropriateness of self-audit organization operations and to solidify the internal control system. The evaluation covers three areas: interest and commitment to supporting institution-level self-audit organizations (50%), composition and personnel level of self-audit organizations (20%), and performance of self-audit activities (30%).
Sahakyeongeum ranked 3rd among 133 other public institutions and received an overall A grade (highest). In line with the revision of BAI evaluation indicators, it designated a dedicated internal control department, established regulations for institution-level internal control operations, and obtained ISO37301 certification for a compliance management system to realize and build ethical management, achieving excellent evaluations across all assessment indicators.
Ryu Chun-yeol, Standing Auditor of Sahakyeongeum, stated, "Achieving the highest grade in the BAI self-audit activity evaluation seems to be the result of efforts to establish an internal control system pursued together with the chairman and management." He added, "We will continue to strengthen internal control and self-audit capabilities and do our best to ensure that preventive audit activities can be sustained."
