This international exchange event has been held annually since Yeongyang County and the Tucson Unified School District in the United States signed an international exchange agreement in January 2015. This year, it took place as a return visit by students from Daji Middle School, following the language training program for Yeongyang County students in Tucson last January.

The international exchange delegation will participate in a domestic training program from May 30 to June 10. During the program, they will experience school life with students at Yeongyang Middle School and Yeongyang Girls' Middle School through regular classes and homestays. They will also join local cultural tours in Yeongyang County, and then move to Seoul to visit Gyeongbokgung Palace and the DMZ, experiencing Korean history before returning home.

In accordance with the international exchange agreement with Tucson, Arizona, Yeongyang County selects second-year middle school students for overseas language training programs in the United States. Through this initiative, the county strives to enhance students' foreign language skills, foster an international mindset, revitalize public education, and nurture global talent.

County Governor Oh Dochang stated, "Through this opportunity, we had many discussions about mutual exchanges," and added, "We will continue to improve the challenging local educational environment and further expand customized educational programs to foster local talent."
