Sharing Key Municipal Issues and Projects for Securing National Funding in 2025

Meeting with the 22nd National Assembly Members of Cheonan City... Request for Cooperation in Securing National Funds Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, held a meeting with local members of the National Assembly in line with the opening of the 22nd National Assembly to secure the 2025 government budget and actively requested cooperation in city administration.

Cheonan City in Chungnam held a meeting with local members of the National Assembly to secure the 2025 government budget in line with the opening of the 22nd National Assembly and requested active cooperation.


The meeting held on the 30th was attended by Cheonan Mayor Park Sang-don, along with National Assembly members Moon Jin-seok (Cheonan Gap), Lee Jae-gwan (Cheonan Eul), and Lee Jeong-moon (Cheonan Byeong), where they shared key city issues and next year’s national funding projects and discussed cooperation plans.


The city requested support to resolve major administrative issues such as the establishment of the National Institute of Dental Science in Cheonan, promotion of the Cheonan Future Mobility National Industrial Complex Pure Industrial Complex, early opening of the extended section of the GTX-C line, and upgrading the posthumous honors of Independence Activist Lee Dong-nyeong.


Additionally, among the 89 projects worth 1.3838 trillion KRW targeted for the 2025 government budget, the city requested active cooperation from local lawmakers for 40 projects worth 208 billion KRW that require new initiatives and concentrated national funding.


Key projects include 11.3 billion KRW for the southern region city bus public garage construction project, 1 billion KRW for the 2025 Cheonan K-Culture Expo, 8 billion KRW for the establishment and operation of energy self-sufficient infrastructure in industrial complexes, 12.2 billion KRW for sewage pipeline maintenance in Pungse-myeon, and 10 billion KRW for Gokgyocheon stream maintenance.


Mayor Park Sang-don stated, “With the government’s fiscal soundness policy, securing the government budget is expected to be difficult not only for new projects but also for ongoing ones, so the interest and support of local lawmakers are necessary,” adding, “The city will also make every effort to ensure that key pending projects are reflected in next year’s government budget.”
