Kumho Tire & Technology (hereinafter Kumho Tire) will supply the 'Ventus Prime 3' as original equipment tires for Mitsubishi Motors' MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) Xpander in Japan.
The Xpander is an MPV model that combines sporty design with driving performance and spacious interior practicality. Since its first release in 2017, it has steadily increased sales mainly in Southeast Asia, establishing itself as Mitsubishi Motors' global strategic model.
The 'Ventus Prime 3' supplied by Kumho Tire for the Xpander is a premium comfort tire optimized for high-speed driving and safety performance, providing a comfortable driving experience. A Kumho Tire official explained that it is very popular in the European region.
The Ventus Prime 3 has been recognized for its world-class technology and excellence through achievements such as first place in the European top automotive magazine Auto Bild test, highest rating in the ADAC Motorwelt test, and winning the Red Dot Design Award 2016 Product Design category.
Meanwhile, Kumho Tire is steadily expanding its original equipment tire supply by strengthening collaboration with global Japanese automakers. Since 2011, it has supplied original equipment tires for best-selling models such as Camry and Corolla in the Toyota Group, as well as the Toyota brand's first pure electric sports utility vehicle (SUV), the bZ4X. Last year, the portfolio was expanded to include Hino, Toyota's commercial vehicle brand.
Since 2013, Kumho Tire has supplied original equipment tires for major Nissan models such as Frontier, Altima, Pathfinder, Infiniti QX60, and X-Trail, and recently expanded its original equipment tire portfolio to include the 2024 Frontier model.
