Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) conducted the '2024 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill' on the 30th at KOTRA to strengthen large-scale disaster response capabilities and review the integrated response system.
This drill was carried out under the theme of 'Response to Building and Road Flooding Due to Abnormal Heavy Rainfall,' considering Seocho-gu's geographical characteristics and the climate pattern of localized heavy rain development. A total of 16 related organizations and groups, including Seocho Fire Station and KOTRA, participated in the drill.
In particular, the drill was conducted in a more realistic and practical manner by combining a 'tabletop exercise,' where various damage scenarios within the region were assumed and responses were discussed in the situation room, with a 'field exercise' at KOTRA to manage an actual disaster situation.
Additionally, during the field exercise, disaster response methods tailored to each organization were demonstrated. Seocho Fire Station conducted ▲emergency rescue control team setup training ▲life rescue training and drainage training, while Seocho-gu carried out ▲disaster site integrated support headquarters setup training ▲field emergency medical center operation training ▲disaster resource mobilization training. KOTRA, together with its in-house safety and health club, conducted ▲facility control and emergency drainage training for initial response before the arrival of firefighting forces and district office personnel.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su of Seocho-gu stated, “Through this Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill, we will do our best to protect the lives and safety of residents by responding swiftly to disaster situations and reviewing the cooperation system with related organizations.”
