Education on 'How to Use Smart Health Management Devices' at 10 AM on the 2nd and 4th Thursday
The Dongdaemun-gu Public Health Center in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 30th that it will operate a "Smart Health Class" to teach elderly people how to use health management devices so they can manage their health independently.
Since 2021, the district has been running a non-face-to-face health management service called the "AI ? IoT-based Elderly Health Management Project" to help residents manage chronic diseases and improve healthy habits.
More than 1,200 people have used this service so far, and this year, an additional 420 elderly people aged 65 and over are being recruited and served.
The district established the "Smart Health Class" to assist elderly people who are not familiar with smart devices and have difficulty managing chronic diseases remotely.
The classes are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 10 a.m. in the Health Education Room on the 4th floor of the Public Health Center, and any interested elderly person can visit and attend.
The class easily teaches how to use health management devices such as blood pressure monitors, blood glucose meters, AI care robots, and the smartphone application "Oneul Geongang" (Today Health). Along with this, nutrition management and healthy meal education related to hypertension and diabetes are also provided.
The class lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes and is held from May to November (excluding July and August).
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, "I hope that elderly residents in the district will learn how to use smart devices through this education and be able to manage their chronic diseases and health well on their own at home."
