Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 30th that it was finally selected in the ‘Local Government CCTV Intelligent Video Analysis Technology Demonstration Contest’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Ministry plans to advance the local government closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring system to an intelligent level by 2027. This contest was promoted as a preparatory step to apply CCTV monitoring technology to various sites through a public-private partnership consortium (local governments + private companies).
Seodaemun-gu applied with the project titled ‘Vehicle-mounted Artificial Intelligence (AI) CCTV Selective Monitoring,’ which develops and demonstrates video analysis technology for specific disaster safety types.
This aims to complement the blind spots of selective monitoring, which is currently applied only to fixed CCTV, by utilizing mobile CCTV on administrative vehicles. The core content is to demonstrate the ability to link incidents, accidents on roads, and daily inconvenience complaints with the monitoring center for resolution.
The district plans to carry out the project with a technologically capable private company until the end of November this year. The total investment scale is 440 million KRW. Mayor Lee Seong-heon said, “As intelligent video analysis technology advances day by day, we will actively utilize it to create various services for residents.”
