On the 30th, the KOSPI slipped to the 2630 level amid simultaneous selling by foreigners and institutions. Major sectors such as semiconductors, automobiles, and batteries all recorded declines. The KOSDAQ, which had shown gains in the morning, also turned downward in the afternoon to close lower.


The KOSPI closed at 2635.44, down 1.56% (41.86 points) from the previous day. It opened at 2666.63, down 0.40% (10.67 points) from the previous close, but the losses widened throughout the day.


The index fell sharply due to combined selling by foreigners and institutions. Foreigners and institutions sold a net 783.9 billion KRW and 448.5 billion KRW, respectively. Only individuals were net buyers, purchasing 1.1928 trillion KRW. In the futures market, foreigners alone sold 559.7 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions bought 219.2 billion KRW and 377.3 billion KRW, respectively.


Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, most showed declines. Only Samsung Biologics +0.69% and KB Financial +0.77% closed higher. In contrast, LG Energy Solution -4.09%, Kia -3.52%, SK Hynix -3.36%, NAVER -2.80%, and Samsung Electronics -2.26% showed notable declines. LG Energy Solution and NAVER also hit 52-week lows.


The KOSDAQ closed at 831.99, down 0.77% (6.46 points) from the previous day. It opened at 835.63, down 0.34% (2.82 points) from the previous close. Individuals were net sellers of 19.6 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions were net buyers of 40.5 billion KRW and 21.0 billion KRW, respectively.


Among the top 10 KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization, only Classys +0.73% closed higher. HLB -6.96%, Enchem -4.98%, HPSP -2.99%, and Lino Industrial -2.39% were among the stocks with the largest declines.
