Goseong County: "Neighborly Love Donation Culture is the Best in Gyeongnam"

Awarded as the Top Institution for 'Hope Neighborly Love Merit'

Goseong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, was selected as the "Best Institution" at the "Hope 2024 Neighbor Love Merit Award Ceremony" (hereinafter referred to as the Award Ceremony) hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do and the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea.

On the 30th, at the Award Ceremony held at Hotel International Changwon, Goseong-gun received an institutional commendation and a banner (a flag with a string awarded to meritorious organizations) from the Gyeongsangnam-do Community Chest of Korea.

In particular, as the Award Ceremony was held to recognize the contributions of companies, organizations, and individuals who contributed to spreading the culture of sharing throughout 2023, Kim Oejeom, in charge of visiting welfare at Donghae-myeon Office, Park Sera, public medical cooperation officer at Red Cross Hospital, and Kim Junggyu, head of Kiturami Boiler Goseong Branch, received commendations from the president of the Community Chest, while Kim Duyon, an official at the Resident Life Division of Goseong County Office, received a commendation from the Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do.

Despite difficult economic circumstances, Goseong-gun achieved outstanding results in performance evaluations such as per capita fundraising throughout the year and fundraising over the past three years. Having been highly recognized for its contributions to the development of community welfare, Goseong-gun was selected as an "Excellent Institution" at the previous "Hope 2022 Neighbor Love Merit Awards," and this time achieved the even better result of being named "Best Institution."

An official from the county said, "We are grateful for the noble hearts of many residents, organizations, and companies who have continued to practice neighborly love and sharing in our county despite the difficult economic situation," and added, "The administration will also do its best to foster a warm social atmosphere so that the culture of giving can continue."
