AI Semiconductor Sales Expected to Increase by 29% Next Year

It is projected that this year’s global artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor market revenue will reach $71.252 billion, an increase of about 33% compared to the previous year. The growth trend is expected to continue next year, with the market size reaching $91.955 billion, a 29% increase.

On the 30th, market research firm Gartner stated, "AI semiconductor sales have maintained a double-digit growth rate annually during the forecast period," adding, "This year will record the highest growth rate during the period."

Gartner estimated that AI semiconductor sales within the computer electronics sector will total $33.4 billion this year, accounting for 47% of total AI semiconductor sales. Additionally, AI semiconductor sales in the automotive electronics sector are expected to reach $7.1 billion, and $1.8 billion in the consumer electronics sector.

This year, AI PC shipments are expected to account for 22% of total PC shipments. By the end of 2026, 100% of enterprise PC purchases are projected to be AI PCs.

Gartner anticipates fierce competition between semiconductor suppliers and tech companies in the AI semiconductor field. With growing interest in high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs), major hyperscalers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Meta are investing in developing their own chips.

Alan Priestley, VP Analyst at Gartner, predicted, "As market interest shifts from AI development to deployment, the current trend is expected to continue."
