On the 30th, the Small Enterprise and Market Service announced that it will participate in the '2024 Busan Coffee Show' held at BEXCO in Busan from the 29th of last month to the 1st of next month, together with the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service.
To promote the enrollment of self-employed small business owners in employment insurance, the Small Enterprise and Market Service and the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service will operate a joint promotional booth. Various events will also be held alongside policy promotion for coffee show attendees.
Until now, the Small Enterprise and Market Service has helped small business owners enroll in the 'Employment Insurance for the Self-Employed' so that they can receive unemployment benefits even in the event of business closure, ensuring a period for preparing for re-startup and re-employment. Starting this year, small business owners enrolled in the self-employed employment insurance can receive support for up to 80% of their monthly insurance premiums for five years.
Park Seong-hyo, Director of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, said, “Employment insurance for the self-employed is designed to allow stable living even after business closure with affordable premiums, so I strongly urge entrepreneurs to enroll in the insurance when starting a business.” He added, “The Small Enterprise and Market Service will do its best to strengthen the social safety net for small business owners through employment insurance as well as management improvement and business closure support.”
