Shinsegae Department Store's 'Shinbaek Members' Surpasses 1.3 Million Subscribers in Just One Year Since Launch

Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 30th that its free membership program, 'Shinbaek Members,' launched in June last year, has surpassed 1.3 million subscribers.

Shinbaek Members is Shinsegae Department Store's free membership that provides subscribers with mobile points called 'Shinbaek Reward,' which function like paper gift certificates, and rechargeable mobile money called 'Shinbaek Money.' Members receive 'Shinbaek Reward Coupons' through the app, offering discount benefits.

The mobile points of Shinbaek Members, Shinbaek Reward, offer greater convenience as they can be used in 10 won (10 rewards) increments, unlike paper gift certificates which require a minimum of 5,000 won units when paying at Shinsegae Department Store's offline stores.

Shinsegae Department Store explained that thanks to this convenience, the number of Shinbaek Members reached 1,322,252 within one year of launch, equivalent to the population of a metropolitan city.

They also added that since the introduction of Shinbaek Reward, 967,112 paper gift certificates have been saved over the past year. The reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from this is approximately 3 tons, equivalent to the effect of planting 422 pine trees.

The cumulative discount amount through Shinsegae Reward Coupons reached 10,378,190,000 won. Shinsegae Department Store stated, "We analyze each customer's usage history of Shinbaek Reward and coupons to provide customized benefits such as coupons tailored to the categories and brands they frequently visit."

To celebrate the first anniversary of Shinbaek Members, Shinsegae Department Store plans to offer new membership events and shopping benefits such as a 'Mega Coupon Pack.' Until the 16th of next month, the first 100,000 new Shinbaek Members will receive 2,000 rewards on a first-come, first-served basis, and during the same period, a Mega Coupon Pack including discount coupons of up to 10% for cosmetic brands and fashion brands will also be given.

Until the 5th of next month, six types of 'Delicious Shinsegae' coupons usable at F&B stores will be additionally provided. The app will hold a '100% Winning' event, and members who score 30 points or more in the 'Puvilla Rally' game will also receive F&B discount coupons.
