Gyeongnam Provincial Council Visits Hyogo Prefecture in Japan for Meeting and Strengthens Exchange

Chairman Kim Jinbu: "We Will Be Excellent Cooperation Partners on the International Stage"

Jinbu Kim, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, and the Korea-Japan Friendship Parliamentary Federation are currently visiting Japan to strengthen friendly exchanges. On the 29th, they visited the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation and carried out exchange activities.

Gyeongnam Provincial Council Visits Hyogo Prefecture in Japan for Meeting and Strengthens Exchange Korea-Japan Parliamentary Friendship League (Hyogo Prefecture).

This visit was arranged at the invitation of the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly to expand international exchanges. From the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, Chairman Jinbu Kim and 21 federation members attended, while from the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly, Chairman Hyoe Naito, Federation Chairman Toshinobu Yamamoto, and 17 assembly members participated. In addition, five members of the Gyeongnam Residents’ Association in Hyogo Prefecture, including Chairman Sangcheol Lee, were also present.


The delegation held a meeting at the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly to discuss ways to promote continuous exchanges and friendly cooperation between the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly and the Gyeongnam Provincial Council.


At the subsequent welcome luncheon, both regions discussed several common issues such as low birth rates and aging populations. The Gyeongnam Provincial Council also actively promoted the Gaya Tumuli?which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site?and the blueprint for Gyeongnam's advanced space and aviation industry through the establishment of the Space and Aerospace Agency, as they did during their visit to the Fukuoka and Yamaguchi Prefectural Assemblies on the 26th.


Chairman Kim stated, "Through this visit, I have confirmed that there is considerable room for cooperation with Hyogo Prefecture. If we pursue close cooperation not only in human and material exchanges but also in various fields such as the economy, we will become excellent partners on the international stage."


Federation Chairman Sangrak Jin said, "The Hyogo Prefectural Assembly has maintained exchanges with us for over 30 years," adding, "We will continue to value the solidarity and friendship with the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly and strive to be a model for international exchanges among local councils."
