Hwaseong City Conducts Hygiene Guidance and Inspection for 'Hwaseong Boat Play Festival'

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 29th that it will conduct a comprehensive hygiene inspection of local restaurants around the event venue ahead of the opening of the "14th Hwaseong Boat Play Festival" at Jeongok Port on the 31st.

The inspection will be carried out until the last day of the festival on the 2nd of next month. The targets of the inspection are 44 general and casual dining restaurants within Jeongok Port and 3 other food handling establishments.


The city has formed a dedicated hygiene management team consisting of five staff members from the Hygiene Policy Division, who will visit each establishment for inspection more than twice. During the inspection period, they will also provide food poisoning prevention supplies such as aprons for cooks and tablecloths, and conduct food poisoning prevention activities. During the event, real-time guidance and inspections will be conducted on food handling standards, price tag postings, and solicitation behaviors.


Song Kyung-su, head of Hwaseong City's Hygiene Policy Division, said, "As the Hwaseong Boat Play Festival has been selected as a representative cultural tourism festival of Korea, we will do our best to manage hygienic food so that visitors can use restaurants with peace of mind."
