'Hero is...' 6th Place 'Queen of Tears' 8th Place
Directed by Han Jae-rim, 'The Eight Show' ranked first in the Netflix global non-English series category in its second week after release. According to Netflix on the 29th, it recorded 4.8 million views (the number of views divided by the total running time of the work) in the fourth week of this month (20th to 26th).
It climbed the rankings by entering the top 10 in sixty-eight countries including South Korea, Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Egypt, Indonesia, and Vietnam. In the third week of this month (13th to 19th), it ranked 7th (1.7 million views). At that time, the 'Demon Slayer' series, which was first with 5.4 million views, dropped to second place (2.6 million views).
'The Eight Show' is a drama depicting the story of eight people trapped in a secret space who participate in a show where they earn money as time accumulates. The main cast includes Ryu Jun-yeol, Chun Woo-hee, Park Jung-min, Lee Yeol-eum, Park Hae-joon, Lee Joo-young, Moon Jung-hee, and Bae Sung-woo.
Two other Korean series also made it into the top 10 in the non-English series category. They are 'Not a Hero, But...' starring Chun Woo-hee and Jang Ki-yong, and 'Queen of Tears' starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won. They ranked 6th and 8th respectively, recording 1.6 million and 1.3 million views.
