Healing for tired body and mind while walking... Gangdong-gu Healing Garden

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 28th that a part of the sidewalk at Eoulmadang in front of Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital (147 Sangil-dong) has been transformed into a 'Healing Garden,' attracting many residents.

The Gangdong-gu 'Healing Garden' was created as part of the '2024 Seoul International Garden Expo,' utilizing the vacant space in front of the hospital to develop a distinctive and charming garden. Various events that residents can participate in are held here, including ▲hanging wish cards on the healing tree ▲planting with Gangdong-gu village gardeners ▲small concerts within the garden, earning the district the honor of an award in the field of creating attractive gardens linked with autonomous districts.

With the theme of the healing power of gardens, the 'Healing Garden,' newly born by planting colorful seasonal flowers and shrubs in somewhat dark and neglected spaces around us, is expected by the district to become a place where residents passing by can heal their weary bodies and minds amidst the harsh urban environment.

Additionally, from April to October, on the third Saturday of every month, the Gangdong Flea Market is held at Sangil-dong Eoulmadang (888 Dongnam-ro), where visitors can fully enjoy performances, experiences, and food, then take a moment to rest and heal in the 'Healing Garden.'

Mayor Lee Soo-hee of Gangdong-gu said, “We will perfectly manage the creation and maintenance of gardens so that Gangdong-gu can become a beautiful garden city visited by many citizens,” and added, “We hope everyone enjoys the healing garden where you can relax and enjoy nature within the city.”
