On the 28th, during the plenary session of the National Assembly, the Special Prosecutor Act for Chae Sang-byeong, on which President Yoon Seok-yeol exercised his veto power, was rejected. In response, the Joguk Innovation Party announced, "We will jointly propose the Special Prosecutor Act for Chae Sang-byeong together with opposition parties that share the same will in the 22nd National Assembly."
Kim Bo-hyeop, chief spokesperson of the Joguk Innovation Party, said in a statement immediately after the rejection of the special prosecutor act, "Today’s final plenary session of the 21st National Assembly will be recorded in history."
Spokesperson Kim stated, "The People Power Party did not stand with the people but sided with President Yoon Seok-yeol," adding, "At this point, I recommend changing the party name from People Power Party to 'Yongsan Power' or 'Yoon Seok-yeol Power.' Or how about 'Yoon Seok-yeol Shield Party' or 'Presidential Family Shield Party'?"
He continued, "The public has been watching the choices of all members of the National Assembly. It will be revealed who the absent members were and who the 111 members who voted against were," and said, "Those who declared they would vote in favor but entered the voting booth and cast invalid or opposing votes?if they think the public won’t know because the vote is anonymous, they are mistaken."

Spokesperson Kim warned, "The People Power Party is going in the exact opposite direction of the public sentiment confirmed in the April 10 general election," adding, "They seem to have already forgotten what lies at the end of that path, which we experienced eight years ago. The April 10 general election was just a preview. Soon, they will face a fierce public sentiment."
He said, "In the 22nd National Assembly, which opens on May 30, we will jointly propose the 'Special Prosecutor Act for Chae Sang-byeong' together with opposition parties that share the same will," emphasizing, "If President Yoon Seok-yeol exercises his veto power again, we will proceed with a re-vote and ensure its passage. The Joguk Innovation Party will stand with the people and public sentiment."
Meanwhile, in the plenary session held at the National Assembly that afternoon, the Special Prosecutor Act for Chae Sang-byeong was rejected with a secret ballot result of 179 in favor, 111 against, and 4 invalid votes out of 294 members present. Accordingly, the Special Prosecutor Act for Chae Sang-byeong was finally discarded.
