In the third episode of MBC's 'She Killed' aired on the 26th, a prison letter and a defense statement sent by Lee Eun-hae to the production team were disclosed. Lee Eun-hae said, "I hesitated a lot before writing this letter. Even if it is an uncomfortable truth, I have decided to tell my story," and emphasized again, "I want to make it clear that I did not kill my oppa (husband Yoon). I believe that the truth will be revealed, even if no one wants it and it is an uncomfortable truth."
She continued, "Oppa and I argued about sexual issues that day as well," and added, "I was annoyed and played pranks on Cho Hyun-soo (accomplice) and oppa to lighten my mood." Regarding the day of the incident, Lee Eun-hae claimed, "The oppa I know definitely knew how to swim and had no fear of water," and said, "I personally saw him swimming in the pool when we were together. When we went to the beach, I was lying on a sunbed with earphones on, taking pictures or listening to music, and oppa went parasailing on the beach and also went swimming there." She then said, "When I turned around, oppa was already out of sight," and "After that, I threw everything I could grab, including a lifeboat."
Lee Eun-hae's father also said he believes his daughter's claims. He said, "To others, my daughter may look like a devil now," and quoted her saying, "'Dad, I didn’t kill him. I am really so wronged.' I believe my daughter. I believe her 100%," he said.

Previously, Lee Eun-hae was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court on charges of encouraging Yoon to dive into the water at Gapyeong Yongso Valley in June 2019 with her lover Cho Hyun-soo, and then ignoring Yoon’s calls for help, resulting in his death. It is known that Lee Eun-hae committed the crime aiming for the 800 million won death insurance money under Yoon’s name.
Also, last month, the Incheon Family Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by Yoon’s bereaved family to annul the marriage with Lee Eun-hae. The court reportedly judged that Lee Eun-hae had no intention of a genuine marital relationship and that economically, Lee Eun-hae was unilaterally exploiting Yoon.
