Busan Office of Education Announces Operation Plan for 'Youngsu Camp'

‘Youngsoo Camp Talk Concert’ for Parents to Be Held on the 30th

A Venue for Communication Between Superintendent and Parents... Encouraging Participation from Education Officials

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is launching communication efforts to enhance parents' understanding of and participation in major policies.

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 28th that it will hold a 'Math and English Camp Talk Concert' for parents at 2 p.m. on the 30th at the Korea Maritime and Ocean University, targeting about 200 parents of 6th grade elementary and 1st grade middle school students in the Busan area.

This talk concert is the second opportunity for communication between the superintendent and parents, following the 'Superintendent-Parent Neulbom Talk Concert' held on the 1st.

Marking the second year of the Character Math and English Camp, the Office of Education organized this talk concert as a space for communication and empathy with parents to share achievements, discuss future directions and areas for improvement, and provide more students with opportunities to participate.

The talk concert will begin with hands-on experiences from the university-specialized programs of last winter's Math and English Camp, such as 'Dong-Eui University Opera' and 'Kyungsung University K-POP Dance Team.' This will be followed by a video presentation of the three-week achievements and a free talk session with the superintendent, students, and parents.

During the free talk session, students and parents who participated in the Math and English Camp will join as panelists. Under the theme 'How I Changed Through the Math and English Camp, Won't You Join Us?', they will share their experiences and cases from the camp, as well as provide practical information about camp operations to attendees.

There will also be a Q&A session to discuss the direction for expanding camp participation, suggestions for the superintendent, and to seek ways to improve the operation of the Math and English Camp.

In particular, the famous YouTuber 'Geupsikwang' will participate as a panelist in the free talk session as the ambassador for the Math and English Camp. After the concert, Geupsikwang plans to engage in various activities to promote the camp.

Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "The Office of Education is putting great effort into the 'Special Zone for Educational Development' projects, including student-customized academic achievement policies, to create Busan education that embraces Korean education," and added, "Taking this talk concert as an opportunity, we will strive to find better ways to operate the Math and English Camp so that students can receive the best education in the best environment."

The Busan Office of Education plans to expand the 'Math and English Camp,' which has shown high satisfaction among participating students and parents and has proven effective in improving academic performance, to accommodate 1,000 students starting from the summer vacation.
