Kim Hee-sung, CEO of Bright Energy Partners, "Goyang City and Government Investment as a Catalyst for Electric Vehicle Transition"

Electric vehicle fast charging network Water announced on the 28th that it has signed an agreement with Goyang Special City for the 'Construction and Operation of Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities in Goyang City.' The Goyang Special City public project is the largest scale among nationwide local government fast charging facility construction contests this year. The selected business operator plans to install and operate a total of 224 electric vehicle fast chargers at 52 locations, including the Goyang City Hall, parks, KINTEX parking lots, and cultural welfare facilities.

To this end, Goyang City announced a public notice last April to recruit private operators to participate in the 'Ministry of Environment Regional Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition Brand Project,' and after deliberation by the evaluation committee, Bright Energy Partners and SK E-Link were selected as joint business operators.

Water, operated by Bright Energy Partners, plans to install a total of 114 electric vehicle fast chargers at 17 locations within this year. The joint private operator SK E-Link will install a total of 110 charging facilities at 35 locations.

Water will install 58 units of 200kW fast chargers and 56 units of 100kW fast chargers throughout Goyang City's urban areas such as KINTEX, Hosu Park, Agricultural and Marine Products Distribution Center, Tanhyeon Station Transfer Public Parking, Daehwa Sports Park, and Goyang City Rehabilitation Sports Center. Among these, at KINTEX, the largest exhibition and convention center in Korea, 8 units of 200kW fast chargers and 38 units of 100kW fast chargers will be installed, establishing the largest outdoor electric vehicle fast charging station nationwide.

Kim Hee-seong, CEO of Bright Energy Partners, said, "In the early stages of infrastructure investment, support from local governments and the government acts as a 'primer' to expand private investment," adding, "We will safely and conveniently build electric vehicle fast charging facilities in landmark areas so that Goyang City can become a sustainable eco-friendly city."
