Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province announced that 100 executives and employees each from the Uljin-Yeongdeok and Uljin-Yeongcheon branches of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup) joined together to make reciprocal donations of 10 million KRW each to their respective local governments through the Hometown Love Donation program.
Oh Jongseong, head of the NH Nonghyup Bank Uljin County Branch, said, "Nonghyup will also make efforts to participate in the Hometown Love Donation program to promote balanced regional development and overcome the crisis of local extinction."
The Hometown Love Donation program allows individuals whose registered address is not in Uljin to donate to another local government, with a maximum of 5 million KRW per day. Donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully tax-deductible, and donors receive a return gift worth 30% of the donation amount.
County Governor Son Byeongbok expressed his gratitude by saying, "I sincerely thank the Nonghyup executives and employees for their donations to support the development and welfare of Uljin County," and added, "I hope the spirit of loving one's hometown will spread to various organizations and groups."
