The First Mock Exam of the Year on June 4... Record High of 88,698 Repeat Test Takers

Number of Applicants Including Graduates Increases by 398

The first mock exam of the year, organized by the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation for the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test, will be held on June 4. The number of 'N-su students (graduates, etc.)' in this mock exam reached an all-time high.

On the 27th, the Institute announced that the 2025 CSAT mock exam will be conducted simultaneously from 8:40 AM on June 4 at 2,114 high schools nationwide (including education offices) and 502 designated academies.

This June's mock exam has 474,133 applicants, an increase of 10,458 compared to last year's June mock exam.

Among the applicants, 385,435 are current students (81.3%), an increase of 10,060. Graduates and others number 88,698 (18.7%), an increase of 398.

Last year, the proportion of 'graduates and others taking the exam' during the June mock exam recorded the highest rate (19.0%) since the official announcement of mock exam registration statistics in 2011.

This year, although the proportion of graduates and others decreased by 0.3 percentage points due to an increase of more than 10,000 current student applicants, the total number of examinees is the highest since official statistics began in 2011.

In the inquiry subjects, 271,676 applied for the social studies inquiry area, and 252,265 applied for the science inquiry area. In last year's June mock exam, the number of science inquiry applicants surpassed that of social studies inquiry applicants for the first time, but it appears to have reversed again within a year.

The Korean language and mathematics sections are conducted in a 'common + elective subject' structure. All examinees who choose the area take the common subject, and for the elective subject in each area, examinees take one subject they select.

In the social studies and science inquiry areas, examinees can choose up to two subjects from 17 subjects.

Examinees who are unable to attend the exam on-site due to unavoidable circumstances on the exam day can take the test through the online exam website from 3 PM on June 4 until 9 PM on June 5. Online examinees will also receive score reports, but their scores will not be reflected in the overall examinee results.

Objections related to questions and answers will be accepted from the exam day until 6 PM on June 7.

After review of objections, the final answers will be confirmed at 5 PM on June 18. Score reports will be released on July 2.
