Utilization Linked with Forest Education (Early Childhood Forest) Program
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that the ‘Forest Children’s Multipurpose Playground’ within Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest will open and operate starting from the 27th.
The newly opened ‘Forest Children’s Multipurpose Playground’ covers an area of 118㎡ and is designed as a play space where children can enjoy futsal, basketball, and more. The previously closed water play area near the main lodging building has been transformed into a nature-friendly space for growing children.
The multipurpose playground is available only to children under 12 years old and can be used free of charge without a separate reservation. However, for safety reasons, children under 5 years old must be accompanied by a guardian.
The city plans to link the playground with the forest education (infant forest) programs currently operated at Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest to increase its utilization.
Park Kyung-joo, head of the recreation forest, said, “We have prepared a small but substantial play space for the healthy growth and nature experience of children who visit the recreation forest regularly. We will continue to make greater efforts to provide various facilities and programs to offer forest welfare services tailored to each life cycle.”
