Geochang County Hosts Korea Tourism Organization Travel Leader Fam Tour

Geochang County in Gyeongnam announced on the 27th that it hosted a familiarization tour by inviting nine members of the Korea Tourism Organization's university student press corps, "Travel Leader."

This fam tour was planned to promote articles written based on the Travel Leaders' direct experiences through the Korea Tourism Organization's official social media channels. The main promotional targets include three major tourist attractions (Geochang Changpowon, Geochang Forest Leisure Sports Park, and Geochang Byeolbaram Hill), as well as foods and snacks made with seasonal ingredients from Geochang.

The nine Travel Leaders first enjoyed lunch at a Korean restaurant serving dishes made with local Geochang ingredients. Afterward, they moved to Geochang Changpowon, where they listened to a cultural tourism interpreter's explanations and explored the park on bicycles while gathering material for their articles.

Next, they visited the Geochang Forest Leisure Sports Park, which is set to open this September, where they enjoyed various activities such as climbing and rope adventures. They then visited a cafe located in the Wolseong Valley for a herb experience and had dinner featuring applewood-smoked barbecue, wrapping up the first day at a forest cabin in the leisure park.

They are also scheduled to enjoy a picnic along the Seocheol Dongryu waterway in Wolseong Valley and under the open sky at Geochang Byeolbaram Hill, taking in the fresh and cool breeze blowing from Deogyusan and Jirisan mountains.

County Governor Koo Inmo said, "We warmly welcome the Korea Tourism Organization's Travel Leaders, who will cover and promote Geochang's top tourist destinations," adding, "We hope you will actively promote Geochang Changpowon, the soon-to-open Geochang Forest Leisure Sports Park, and Geochang Byeolbaram Hill, which is especially beautiful in autumn with asters and sunsets, through your vivid experience articles."

Going forward, the county plans to continue developing unique fam tours tailored to various ages, preferences, and cultures to promote its major tourist attractions and further vitalize Geochang tourism and the local economy.
