S-OIL is supporting consulting services to help small-scale partner companies, which are subject to the Serious Accident Punishment Act expanded this year to workplaces with five or more employees, fulfill their obligations to establish safety and health systems, thereby strengthening win-win cooperative relationships.
From last month until the end of this month, S-OIL has conducted consulting support activities for 65 partner companies with 5 to 49 employees to establish safety and health systems. They provided detailed implementation plans such as setting safety goals, identifying and improving hazardous risk factors at partner companies, and evaluation methods for supervisors, offering practical assistance in building safety and health systems.
An S-OIL official stated, "We are addressing the difficulties faced by partner companies that feel overwhelmed due to lack of experience regarding the safety and health obligations, system establishment procedures, and costs following the expanded enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act. We provide detailed support down to practical tasks to ensure the completion of system establishment. We plan to continue offering consulting support for safety and health system establishment to additional small-scale partner companies in the second half of the year."
Along with this, S-OIL has been steadily carrying out various support activities to strengthen the autonomous safety management capabilities of partner companies. Since 2012, 115 partner companies have participated in the ongoing safety and health win-win cooperation program, through which they conduct regular consultative safety meetings, joint safety and health inspections, risk assessment training, and support for certification of the Risk Assessment Support System (KRAS), among other cooperative activities.
Through S-OIL’s support, about 40 partner companies have obtained ISO-45001 (International Safety and Health Management System) certification, received KOSHA-MS (Safety and Health Management System) certification tailored to domestic laws from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and acquired risk assessment certification from the same agency.
An S-OIL official said, "We are providing generous support in the safety and health fields to raise the safety management level of partner companies to S-OIL’s standards and enhance sustainability. We verify and monitor the entire process and motivate autonomous safety management by awarding workers and partner companies that demonstrate excellent safety management activities."
