Citizens Enjoying the '2nd Nowon Handmade Beer Festival'

Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced on the 26th that it held the '2nd Nowon Craft Beer Festival' at Hwarangdae Railroad Park.

At the 1st Plaza, centered around Nowon Train Village and the Hwarangdae Railroad Park parking lot, about 12 brewery booths and 11 food trucks were arranged. Performances by Crying Nut, No Brain, Ji Se-hee, Daybreak, and others continued for two days on the main stage set up in the parking lot.

In the central area of Hwarangdae Railroad Park, called Bulbit Garden, the 2nd Plaza was set up, operating a beer bar featuring the craft beer brewery 'Vaneheim' and the 'Nowon Craft Beer Cooperative' representing Nowon, as well as a snack bar run by merchants from Sanggye Central Market and Gongneung Goblin Market.

The newly expanded area this year, the 3rd Plaza, was created at the waterside park in front of Hwarang Hall. With cooperation from the Korea Military Academy, this area was opened to the festival for the first time, featuring a wide lawn with large shade tents and resting areas where visitors can enjoy a picnic atmosphere.

Meanwhile, to enable carbon neutrality during the event, the district checked a carbon emission checklist and conducted on-site evaluations, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions by producing 40,000 cups and 10,000 bowls as reusable containers and placing collection points at each location.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “We welcome everyone visiting the Nowon Craft Beer Festival, which is growing into a nationwide festival beyond Nowon-gu,” and added, “With flavorful beers presented by the best craft beer breweries, along with various food and cultural performances prepared, we hope families and friends come out and enjoy a unique weekend.”
