The work of Yuna Kim from Maehol Elementary School in Osan, who won the Grand Prize at the "1st Life Safety Poster Contest" hosted by the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters
At the ‘Life Safety Poster Contest’ held for the first time this year by the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, Yuna Kim from Osan Maehol Elementary School won the grand prize.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 26th that after conducting a poster contest throughout April for elementary school students in the province, focusing on 10 life safety accident themes such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, traffic accidents, wild animals, mountain accidents, and water play, Yuna Kim received the highest honor.
A total of 1,282 entries were submitted for this contest, including 1,207 from general students, 45 from multicultural students, and 30 from students with disabilities.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters conducted judging on 34 grand prize works selected by each fire station and chose Yuna Kim’s work, which well expressed the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation through the poster, as the grand prize winner.
The excellence awards went to Minho Song from Paju Geomsan Elementary School and Kiyoon Park from Uiwang Naeson Elementary School, while the encouragement awards were given to 12 students including Yena Son from Ilsan Jeongbal Elementary School.
The grand prize and excellence award winners will receive commendations from the governor, and the encouragement award winners will receive commendations from the chief of the respective fire station.
Jo Sunho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "Many children participated in the life safety poster contest held for the first time to foster public consensus on preventing life safety accidents," adding, "The excellent works will be produced as booklets to raise awareness of safety culture."
