Dongdaemun-gu Supports Installation of Ramps for Mobility of Disabled and Elderly

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 24th that it will start the 'Ramp Installation Support Project' from June to improve mobility convenience for people with disabilities, the elderly, and others.

The district supports the installation of customized ramps for small-scale public facilities (with a floor area of less than 300㎡) that are not subject to mandatory convenience facility installation under the 『Act on Guarantee of Convenience for the Disabled, the Elderly, Pregnant Women, etc.』.

Applications for installation can be submitted by scanning the QR code at the bottom of the notice, filling out the application form, or by contacting the Dongdaemun Disabled Welfare Center.

A district official said, “We ask for the active participation of facility operators frequently used by residents, such as pharmacies, grocery stores, restaurants, and hair salons, to create a barrier-free city Dongdaemun-gu where anyone can comfortably visit the facilities they want.”
