Medica Korea, a pharmaceutical company with 48 years of tradition (CEO Hyun-sik Kim), announced on the 23rd that it donated health functional foods worth 100 million KRW to Chuncheon City in collaboration with the Chungman Love Sharing Foundation (Chairman Da-wit Lim) to support vulnerable groups in Chuncheon.

This donation was made in celebration of Family Month and aimed to provide nutrition and promote health for vulnerable children in Chuncheon City, which was certified as a UNICEF Child-Friendly City last year.

Among the donations, Medica Korea especially supported various health functional foods including its own product, the children and adolescent supplement ‘Bibi Tok Tok,’ intending to offer significant help to neighbors in need within the local community.

Yook Dong-han, Mayor of Chuncheon, has declared Chuncheon as a ‘Child-Friendly City’ by establishing a child-friendly city plan and enacting ordinances related to child-friendly city creation, as part of the promises made during the 8th term of the local government.

Chuncheon City expects this donation to be a great support for vulnerable children facing difficulties and expressed gratitude, promising to continue efforts for the development of the local community. The donated items will be distributed to low-income vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients in 25 towns and townships within Chuncheon City.

Il-su Yook, Vice Chairman of Medica Korea, said, “We hope this donation will help improve the health of children and adolescents in Chuncheon City, and we will become a company that practices sharing and fulfills social responsibility.”

Additionally, the Chungman Love Sharing Foundation, which actively shares love in various areas of society in need of help, stated, “We are glad to share warm interest and love with neighbors in difficulty in the local community,” and added, “We will continue steady donations and volunteer activities in the future.”

Meanwhile, Medica Korea is a specialized pharmaceutical manufacturer with 48 years of history, producing a total of about 120 types of pharmaceuticals including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, and exporting about 30 items to 12 countries worldwide. The company also regularly conducts pharmaceutical waste collection box installations and pharmaceutical waste collection volunteer activities in cooperation with the Seocho-gu Volunteer Center, continuously expanding the scope of its volunteer work every year.
