Customized Welfare Services to Address Social Isolation of Single-Person Households
Goryeong-gun (Governor Lee Namcheol) held a job training session for 19 postal workers from the Goryeong Post Office (Director Kwon Ocheol) on the 23rd at the post office's conference room, aiming to prevent solitary deaths and identify those in welfare blind spots.
This training was organized to promote understanding of roles and cooperation in connection with the upcoming "Well-being Care Postal Service" project for preventing solitary deaths, which is scheduled to begin at the end of this month, and the appointment of postal workers as "Honorary Social Welfare Officials."
Goryeong-gun will select households requiring intensive management, produce care packages using public interest funds from the post office, and have postal workers quickly report any crisis information about recipients identified during delivery to the county office, enabling the provision of customized welfare services.
Park Hyunsoo, head of the Resident Welfare Department, stated, "As social isolation and solitary deaths among single-person households are becoming serious issues, I hope everyone will approach their duties with a sense of mission to build a robust welfare safety net in the community."
Goryeong County is conducting 'Postal Worker Job Training for the Prevention of Solitary Deaths' in collaboration with the post office.
